Topeka High alumni often comment that this library is a wonderful
place filled with fond memories. Each year hundreds of visitors and tour groups
remark on the beauty of the building and the Media Center. Last year over
650 visitors stopped by to admire the facility. Surely such a facility deserves
the support of caring individuals to maintain the educational integrity of
the collection and the concept of a library as a whole.
In order to promote leisure reading and to teach effective research skills
in this fast-paced, information-overloaded society, the Topeka High Media
Center has begun a Friends of the THS Library organization. Topeka High will
be the first high school in the state of Kansas and quite possibly in the
nation, to form a Friends organization! Consider becoming a member. The membership
form is below.
A percentage of each membership will be placed in an endowment. You may also
sponsor a chair. 
As you can tell from this photo, several of the chairs are in desperate need
of refinishing. Next to the older chair is a newly refinished chair. Don't
they look nice? Notice the brass plaque on the back of the refinished chair.
If you agree to pay the cost of refinishing, your name will be placed on a
plaque and attached to "your" chair. Sponsoring a chair will cost
$300. It is a wonderful gift, memorial, or graduation present. Please contact

Funds Distribution
A portion of the donations received was designated to be spent
on acquiring books for the library. These materials include items that came
from the "Best Of" lists as well as titles recommended in a workshop.
They also include materials requested by teachers. You can find them here.
