Math OnLine
This mathematics site has tutorials in Algebra and Trigonometry
and a very extensive section about Geometry. It also includes a
lot of information about programming with Java, Chaos Theory, and
fractal generation (Mandelbrot and Julia sets). There is even some
software for creating stereograms, those three dimensional pictures
that can only be seen inside your brain.
Internet
Learning Network
"Internet Learning Network" provides an opportunity for
middle and high school students to see how their math & science
skills measure up against other students worldwide. The site offers
tutorials, practice opportunities, & reasons why math &
science matter in the world today.

Forum: Teacher 2 Teacher: Pi Day
March 14 (3.14) is Pi Day. Celebrate with pizza (how many slices
of the small pizza would be equal to or greater than 3 slices from
the large pizza?), cake (comparing the volumes of slices taken from
round and rectangular cakes), music (a translation of Pi into base
12 with fully orchestrated CD quality music from the resulting sequence)
and other projects

in Daily Life: How Do Numbers Affect Everyday Decisions
Most students question how they will use basic math concepts throughout
their lives. This site explains how math impacts daily decision
making as it explores math's role in cooking, home decorating, savings
and retirement, and more.

MegaMath
"MegaMath" presents important mathematical ideas &
allows students & teachers to experience math in ways that it
is experienced by mathematicians & scientists. Through fun activities
& real world applications (tied to the NCTM standards), the
project allows students to see what mathematicians actually do.

QUANDARY
Quandary is an application for creating Web-based Action Mazes.
An Action Maze is a kind of interactive case-study; the user is
presented with a situation, and a number of choices as to a course
of action to deal with it. On choosing one of the options, the resulting
situation is then presented, again with a set of options. Working
through this branching tree is like negotiating a maze, hence the
name "Action Maze". Action mazes can be used for many
purposes,
including problem-solving, diagnosis, procedural training, and surveys/questionnaires.
