Topeka Legal Professionals

1st place $300, 2nd place $200

= Be a citizen of US, Kansas resident, a high school senior, plan to enroll in a program to advance their education, document financial need.


HyVee Scholarships

Deadline: February 10th

40 @ $1,000

=Applicant must work for HyVee or have a parent working for HyVee on or before September 15th 2014.  Applicant must be a senior and going to college for the 1st time. 


** The Topeka Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE)

Deadline February 13th

= Must be a high school graduating senior from one of the Topeka/Shawnee County high schools, planning on attending a college or university or trade school, minimum of a 2.5 GPA, must be in good standing at your current high school.  This scholarship is intended for African American youth to assist financially in furthering their education.

= Graduating seniors who are a Kansas resident, will attend a Kansas technical college or technical school.

** Glenn Lygrisse/KACRAO Scholarship

Deadline February 15th

= A senior in a Kansas high school, GPA of 3.25 or better on a 4.0 scale, ACT of 22 or a SAT combined 1020, and can provide evidence of leadership experience.

Developing Scholars Program – Kansas State University

Deadline February 15th (Admitted to K-State by this date for Fall 2015)

$5,000 and renewable for additional 3 years

= First generation student who will attend K-State Fall 2015, admitted by Feb 15th, ACT score between 22 – 26, High School GPA of at least 3.0, eligible for in-state tuition, demonstrate financial need, intend to live in Putnam Hall on campus and complete housing contract y Feb 15th, apply for financial aid by completing FAFSA by Feb 15th, complete the Student Strengths Inventory.

= High school seniors who plan to enroll full time at a 4 year college or university in 2015-2016, major in field of study that focuses on engineering/technology/design/business with an interest in the automobile industry.  Financial need.

=Must be a senior woman who will graduate from a Shawnee County Kansas High School.  Attainment in scholarship, and participation in high school and community activities.  Minimum GPA of 3.5.

2 @ $500

= A senior who must have attended 5th grade at Williams and are planning to attend college or technical school.  Must have 2.5 GPA or above, must graduate, and submit and essay. 


Susan K. Rogers Scholarship for Future Teachers

$250 per semester renewable for 4 years

= Graduating senior from USD 501, planning to attend a 4 year college or university, have a minimum GPA of 3.4, plan on majoring in elementary or secondary education.


Delta Theta Chi Sorority – Electra Province Scholarship

= High school senior who will be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the state of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, or Nebraska, and must have declared a major in Fine Arts: Music Art, Dance, or Theatre.

Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors Scholarship

Deadline March 2nd


=Must be a high school senior planning on attending a technical college where they will pursue an associate of applied science degree in either Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair.  And have a 2.5 GPA or higher.


Friends of the Topeka High School Library

Deadline March 6th

2 @ $500

=High school senior going to trade, community college, 4 year college, technical college.  Applicants submit a resume and essay explaining their thoughts on “The need for libraries in a democratic and information rich society”.  Submit these items to the library or counseling center.


** American Business Women’s Association

Deadline March 10th

= High school senior who will attend Washburn University or Washburn Institute of Technology during the 2015-2016 academic year.  Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, demonstrate financial need, professional or business goals, and available to be interviewed. 



Deadline March 13th

= High school seniors graduating in May 2015, must be Hispanic or Latino high school graduated in the Topeka-Shawnee County area. 


Christopher Edmonds Prize in Debate & Forensic Excellence

Deadline March 15th


= A senior at Topeka High School who plans on attending a 4 year college or university, competed in interscholastic debate and/or forensics for a minimum of 3 academic years, have a minimum of 750 points awarded from the National Forensic League, preference will be given to those who intend to pursue debate at the collegiate level, award given upon proof of acceptance of college offer.

General Line Worker Scholarship – 2 @ $2,000 each

= Must be a graduating senior or recent graduate, maintain a 2.5 GPA while in the program, must be a Kansas resident, may need a Commercial Driver’s License.

= African-American female seniors who will enroll in a 4 year accredited college or university on a full-time basis.  Must live in Shawnee or Douglas County, graduating in May 2015, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, demonstrate participation in community service activities.  Community service may include civic, church, or related activities during high school.  


Kansas Junior Golf Scholarship

Deadline March 27th

5 @ $5,000 ($1250 each year)

= Academic scholarship, must be a senior who has participated in junior golf, including high school golf.  Academic performance, leadership, a written essay, and financial need.  Must attend a Kansas college or university, including community colleges.

= Senior awards will be based on academic achievement, leadership qualities, service, special abilities, and financial need. 


WE – Women Empowerment Young Women Advancement Scholarship

= USD 501 female high school senior, GPA of 3.0 or higher, attending a post-secondary accredited institution, community service, leadership involvement, reference letter, essay

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship

= Must be a US citizen, national or permanent resident, between the ages of 15 and 18, current high school student at the time of application with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
