Living the Dream Poetry/Essay/Art Competitions

Deadline December 8th submitted by 4:30p (essay) 5p (Poem and Art)

= Open to students 1st – 12th grade

 

** Acacia Fraternity – Kansas State University

Deadline December 19th

= High school senior who is male and will attend Kansas State University, yound men must display motivation for personal success, and an interest in studying the principals of leadership.

= Open to all students 9th – 12th grade, must be a Kansas resident, must be a legal US citizen, must plan on attending a 2 or 4 year college technical, vocational, or trade school after high school.

2015 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

Deadline: January 8th

$10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 per student

= Seniors who embody the characteristics of President Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home.  Looking for students with Leadership, Drive, Integrity, and Citizenship.

Washburn University Leadership Institute

Deadline: January 9th

Up to $8,000

= Seniors who will graduate in May 2015 and attend Washburn University, student must participate in Washburn’s Leadership institute, student must maintain a college GPA of 3.0 and study a Leadership Minor or Leadership Studies Certificate.

 

The Kelly Lynn Lutz (KLL) Scholarship Foundation

Deadline: January 10th

$1,000 renewable for 4 years ($4,000 max)

= Senior who will attend a 2 or 4 year college, lost a parent to cancer (biological or non) before the age of 22, a US Citizen, interest in education/arts/math/science/environment, community service in community/church/school/non-curricular activity, financial need.

Shawnee County Extension Master Gardener Program

Deadline: January 15th

$500

= Seniors who are Shawnee County residents, GPA of 3.0 or higher, show interest in community service

1st place $300, 2nd place $200

= Be a citizen of US, Kansas resident, a high school senior, plan to enroll in a program to advance their education, document financial need.

 

HyVee Scholarships

Deadline: February 10th

40 @ $1,000

=Applicant must work for HyVee or have a parent working for HyVee on or before September 15th 2014.  Applicant must be a senior and going to college for the 1st time. 

 

** Penwell-Gabel Tradition of Caring Nursing Scholarship

= High school seniors currently pursuing a nursing or pre-nursing course of study.

** Developing Scholars Program – Kansas State University

Deadline February 15th (Admitted to K-State by this date for Fall 2015)

$5,000 and renewable for additional 3 years

= First generation student who will attend K-State Fall 2015, admitted by Feb 15th, ACT score between 22 – 26, High School GPA of at least 3.0, eligible for in-state tuition, demonstrate financial need, intend to live in Putnam Hall on campus and complete housing contract y Feb 15th, apply for financial aid by completing FAFSA by Feb 15th, complete the Student Strengths Inventory.

 

** Susan K. Rogers Scholarship for Future Teachers

Deadline March 1st

$250 per semester renewable for 4 years

= Graduating senior from USD 501, planning to attend a 4 year college or university, have a minimum GPA of 3.4, plan on majoring in elementary or secondary education.

 

** Delta Theta Chi Sorority – Electra Province Scholarship

Deadline March 1st

2 @ $1,700

= High school senior who will be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the state of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, or Nebraska, and must have declared a major in Fine Arts: Music Art, Dance, or Theatre.

** Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors Scholarship

=Must be a high school senior planning on attending a technical college where they will pursue an associate of applied science degree in either Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair.  And have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

 

** Friends of the Topeka High School Library

Deadline March 6th

2 @ $500

=High school senior going to trade, community college, 4 year college, technical college.  Applicants submit a resume and essay explaining their thoughts on “The need for libraries in a democratic and information rich society”.  Submit these items to the library or counseling center.

 

** Christopher Edmonds Prize in Debate & Forensic Excellence

Deadline March 15th

$1,000

= A senior at Topeka High School who plans on attending a 4 year college or university, competed in interscholastic debate and/or forensics for a minimum of 3 academic years, have a minimum of 750 points awarded from the National Forensic League, preference will be given to those who intend to pursue debate at the collegiate level, award given upon proof of acceptance of college offer.

 

** WE – Women Empowerment Young Women Advancement Scholarship

Deadline March 31st

= USD 501 female high school senior, GPA of 3.0 or higher, attending a post-secondary accredited institution, community service, leadership involvement, reference letter, essay

 

 

** Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship

= Must be a US citizen, national or permanent resident, between the ages of 15 and 18, current high school student at the time of application with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
